This pilgrim tour includes visiting main orthodox churches of the republic. It starts near the main cathedral of Buryatia – Hodigitria Cathedral. It was under construction for more than 40 years, in in 1741 the first stone church was build. The cathedral consists of 2 parts: winter part on the first floor and summer one on the second floor. The main icon of the church is Hodigitria God Mother that was blessed on the 3rd of May, 1785. In 1929 the cathedral was closed and it was used as an antireligious museum, only since August, 1995 the cathedral was given back from the government to Orthodox Church. Here a bishop tells you about the history of Orthodox religion in Buryatia, its most important events and traditions. Then you go to the village Troitskoe (85 km from Ulan-Ude) to visit one of the most ancient Orthodox churches in East Siberia – Troitskiya church. A bishop from the church meets you and then you have an excursion in the church. 
The next stop is Posolskii Spaso-Preobrazhenskiy friary – one of the most important in Buryatia. It was founded in 1681 Feodosii Troitskiy abbot, on the right shore of the sacred lake Baikal.

The place, where the monastery is situated, was chosen near the cape where members of Russian Embassy to Mongolia were killed by Mongolian khan.

Here you have an excursion where you know more interesting information about the appearance of the monastery and its mysteries. After excursion you have a monastery meals and then a walking on the shores of Baikal lake. 

Optionally on the way back you have a stop near Ilinka settlement to hike up the mountain where an old chapel of tsar times stands.
